Associate Pastor
Paul initially accepted the call to First Baptist Church in April of 2012 as Associate Pastor of Youth. After serving the youth faithfully for nearly eight years, his role transitioned from youth pastor to associate pastor. Paul grew up locally in Mayfield, graduating from Graves County High School in 2004. He earned his bachelor’s degree at Mid-Continent University, his Master’s degree from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Christians Missions at Southern as well. Paul and Lindsey have been happily married since June of 2006 and have three wonderful boys: Jayden, Kanyn, and Kye.

Associate Pastor of Worship
Moving to Graves county at the age of 4, Paul grew up in the local area and as the son of a Music Minister. Paul joined the staff of First Baptist Church Mayfield in December of 2015. Raised in and around ministry Paul learned first-hand and by example the necessity in every believer’s life for worship. One of Paul’s greatest passions in worship leadership is to see the equipped believer live out their calling through the gifts God has given them. Prior to coming to FBC Paul has served in multiple ministry leadership capacities such as Youth Director, Pulpit Supply, and Worship Leader. Paul married his high school sweetheart in July of 1999. They have two children Lincoln and Alaya. Paul has tremendous heart for worship, and also in fresh perspectives and means to express God’s glory in worship in the local body of believers.

Blake is currently attending The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky, where he is pursuing a Bachelor’s degree and a Master’s of Divinity. Blake is passionate about sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ to Children so that they may come to know His abundant love and grace. He resides in Mayfield with his wife, Abby, and they have a beautiful daughter, Remi.

Our Beliefs

JESUS

What We Believe About Jesus

Christ is the eternal Son of God. In His incarnation as Jesus Christ He was conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. Jesus perfectly revealed and did the will of God, taking upon Himself human nature with its demands and necessities and identifying Himself completely with mankind yet without sin. He honored the divine law by His personal obedience, and in His substitutionary death on the cross He made provision for the redemption of men from sin. He was raised from the dead with a glorified body and appeared to His disciples as the person who was with them before His crucifixion.

GOD

What We Believe About God

There is one and only one living and true God. He is an intelligent, spiritual, and personal Being, the Creator, Redeemer, Preserver, and Ruler of the universe. God is infinite in holiness and all other perfections. God is all-powerful and all knowing; and His perfect knowledge extends to all things, past, present, and future, including the future decisions of His free creatures. To Him we owe the highest love, reverence, and obedience. The eternal triune God reveals Himself to us as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, with distinct personal attributes, but without division of nature, essence, or being.

THE BIBLE

What We Believe About Scripture

The Holy Bible was written by men divinely inspired and is God’s revelation of Himself to man. It is a perfect treasure of divine instruction. It has God for its author, salvation for its end, and truth, without any mixture of error, for its matter. Therefore, all Scripture is totally true and trustworthy. It reveals the principles by which God judges us, and therefore is, and will remain to the end of the world, the true center of Christian union, and the supreme standard by which all human conduct, creeds, and religious opinions should be tried. All Scripture is a testimony to Christ, who is Himself the focus of divine revelation.
