My name is Katie Jones, and I am the Children's Ministry Director. I am so glad that you are interested in our children's ministry. I know how important it is for you to be a part of a church that helps you train up your little ones in the Lord. This is my passion, and I am so glad you've found us!
About our Children's Ministry
As you are probably well aware, the December 2021 tornado has changed the way we do ministry. Since we are not at our church building, right now we are utilizing borrowed spaces for our ministry. On Sundays, we are meeting at the Graves County Performing Arts Center. They have graciously allowed us to use several classrooms during our worship time. There is one room dedicated to our nursery, which is open to children age 5 and younger. We believe that children should be involved with their parents as much as possible on Sundays. So, children stay in the main auditorium during the singing, and then they are dismissed to join us for a teaching time.
We also believe that it is important to stay connected during the week! So, we host Awana at the JU Kevil Building near Kess Creek Park (click here for directions!). We feed them a snack starting at 5:30, and then we jump into games, crafts, Bible time, and a time to meet with one of our adults 1-on-1 to discuss their progress in memorizing Scripture.
And keep watch for other events throughout the year, including Kid's Camp and Vacation Bible School!
